Cycling in the window

As Christmas 2013 draws nearer the weather has become increasingly stormy. Strong winds and heavy rain has caused disruption. We had a power cut for 3 hours at Burton Bradstock last night during a fierce storm. For the last few days the sea has been very rough

To help motivate myself to keep riding through the winter months I have selected 2 Audax challenges.  One is to ride a Randonnee every month (RRTY) and the other is to gather some Audax Altitude Award points. It is quite easy to combine AAA points into the RRTY on the long summer days. I am not experienced at riding in the dark so for now I am choosing 200k routes with less elevation so I ride them quicker and keep riding in the dark to a minimum.

My continuing interest in Audax has encouraged me to set new challenges. One challenge is Randonneur Round the Year (RRTY) which entails riding a 200k event or longer every month. In the cold, dark, winter months this becomes more of a challenge as everything is harder. Riding in the dark and the cold and the road conditions and weather are likely to be poor.
